¤ Mar, 2004. Bored writing 24-7 the SMArchS Thesis book, I take intermediate breaks porting the old four-dimensional project in c++/opengl to make a realtime animation. Voxelizing the 4D geometry and raytracing gives back the bizarre hyperspace terrains.

¤ Feb, 2004. Started reading on Evolutionary Computation. Implemented a Genetic Algorithm to grow some boxes evenly (they resist at first). Applied the GA on dECOi::BanksideTowerTop( )... Mark freaks out.

¤ Jan, 2004. Working with Alex Tsamis on his over the top "Smart Molding" machine. Software and Electronics pandemonium, ten million microcontrollers and stepper motors (the machine looks suspisiously cute).

¤ Dec, 2004. Writing a Voxel-flavored form/sound-finding (?) mel script for Lydia Kallipoliti and Saeed Arida. Impossible to control the madness.

¤ Nov, 2003. MiranScript Version 1.0.0 (almost) Released and STL published for prototyping for the "Non Standard Architectures", Pompidou Center, Paris exhibition.

¤ Oct, 2003. Learning the NURBS geometry/math. Started implementing a Java-based evaluator for porting the Rapid Prototyping Script and making it available online.

¤ Sep, 2003. MiranScript Version 0.0.1 design development phase begins.

¤ Aug, 2003. Back in Boston working in the Building Technology lab. Researching strategies for flexible pertrochemical laboratory buildings!!!

¤ Aug, 2003. Writing a prototyping script for my dear friends' coolest ever undergraduate thesis in Greece. Missed their final presentation :(

¤ May, 2003. Presenting the Byte Curves in Media Labs. The operational prototype started working a couple of hours before the presentation. I map my coffee cup :)))

¤ May, 2003. Rapid Prototyping Script final release is out. We are amazed with the speed of generating and fabricating the parts but struggling with assembly. Next project decided to be a giant glue-gun robot.

¤ Apr, 2003. Light Sensitive Skin script is almost done, heading for the tricky part of making some physical prototypes. Bending random unrolled surfaces back in 3d tends to be trickier than iniitially imagined.

¤ Apr, 2003. The Parametric Surfaces produces some pretty 3D-prints. Most people suspect that the surfaces are randomized.

¤ Mar, 2003. The original version of Scripting and Computational Geometry paper is finished after a couple of nights of crazy writing.

¤ Feb, 2003. Start reading Paul Bourke, on the blob and the voxel. Begin thinking of the Metablob project.

¤ Jan, 2003. After rethinking many core aspects, sgStudio_min Version 2.0alpha is getting into design development phase (never exists).

¤ Dec, 2002. sgStudio_min Version 1.0 is Released after four months of development. Lots of quirks but looks promising.

¤ Nov, 2002. Hacking on some sound files, I figure out how music is encoded. Jeneratiff Packet Sound emerges; first artifact entitled as "n€Wb0rN".

¤ Nov, 2002. The Online Collaborative Environments interface is completed and presented. Wish I knew more about Server-Side scripting. My team-mate escapes in Japan just before the final presentation ;)

¤ Oct, 2002. Performing an ethnographic study (semi fiction-based) on bread-buying habits of the typical super-market shopper  =). End up designing the Kendall Square Subway "T" stop (for the same course).

An online vbscript editor that formats code to many standards (and non-standards) such as HTML and BBS style code. Very handly for publishing color-coded source code over the interweb. May 2005.

A thought experiment on mathematical representations of space, defined by more than three spatial dimensions. A space of multiple dimensions and/or multiple projections. (Developed in March 2004 as part of SMArchS Thesis).

Byte Curves: Physical to Digital
Design and development of a hand-held digital version of a contour gage which transfers curves from physical objects directly in CAD applications. Media Labs, May 2003. (Instructor: Ted Selker).
Jeneratiff Packet Sound Experiment
Experimental project in producing generative music by direct sound data manipulation on the packet level. Implemented in November 2002.
sgStudio_min Version 1.0
A small-scale 3D CAD application written in Java for shape grammars. A basic shape grammars' (infix) interpreter based on a symbolic computation model. Developed during the Fall of 2002. (Instructor: Terry Knight).
sgStudio_min Version 2.0alpha
Work in progress in extending the initial application to a graphical generative-design programming language. A bridging approach between the text-based act of coding and the shape-based process of drawing. (In the freezer since Winter 2002-2003).
Online Collaborative Environments
